Can someone tell me the size of the hex on the Hunter adjustment tool? Is there any advantage to using this tool rather than an allen wrench of the correct size?

Not sure which tool you are referring to... The only tools on their website are these: http://www.hunterindustries.com/Resources/Store/item.asp?Category=MAT

And the tool on amazon is this one:

If it is a socket allen wrench type then I'm sure you'd be able to just use an allen wrench. They are an american company so I would assume the allen wrench is inch size.

In lieu of buying one (something like $6, lame) I believe the size you are looking for is 3/32". Chances are a semi-decent alan key set will also run you at least $6, but at least you get the whole set. Hope this helps--

For Hunter PGP's the tool you are talking about is a Hunter Key.

You can go to your local irrigation supplier and they will give you one probably for free.

In Hunter's supply box of 20 pgp's they supply 2 hunter keys.

The size I'm not exactly sure of. I could look it up on a allen key set, but it's late. It is one of the smaller sizes of the allen.

The advantage to it is its quick and easy to use. You have you slot to adjust the radius and the allen key to adjust the dispersment.

I loose them often and while working I must resort to a flat head screw driver and allen key set.
