Hi there,
I am hoping to get some advice on valves.
I installed my own irrigation system 8 years ago. All rainbird with a 8 zone controller. R50's and 4" pop ups.
I made a mistake with the choice of valves. I used the rainbird 1inch antisyphon valves APAS100, these have been pretty unreliable with respect to allowing water to bleed past the valve when the valve is closed. Even with repair kits it doesn't fix the problem. The water is well water and has a high iron content.
I needed antisyphon valves at the time and decided upon above ground APAS100 as opposed to normal in ground valves and a single anti syphon breaker valve , (silly me).
I no longer need the antisyphon aspect as the sprinklers run from the well
and the house is now connected to City water.
What valves should I replace the current rainbird APAS100's with. I need the easiest swap and lowest cost with good reliability. Something that will not allow water to leak past when closed.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
