Timers and Heads

Dumb question. Our home has rainbow sprinkler heads. Can I replace the timer with a non-rainbow unit (Toro for example)? Or does the timer have to be compatible with the heads?

You can replace the timer with any brand you like. Just mark the wires so you know which stations they belong to for when you install your new one.

The wires should be color coded so that each zone valve has its unique colored wire. Example: If zone #3 has a purple wire, then the purple wire should be attached to the #3 terminal at the control panel.
