I'm putting in a drip system and could use a little advice. I have a front and back yard to do. The front has an underground water connection with an AC valve and AVB already installed, and some PVC already in the ground. The back yard is about 2ft higher than the front. I could not find a water line stub at the back of the house.

The front will be xeriscape. the backyard will be xeriscape, a small amount of grass (maybe buffalo) and a garden.

The climate here in Albuquerque is mild but it does freeze so I need the water lines to drain automatically.

In the front I can use the existing water connection, valve and AVB. The first question I need to answer is how to connect water for the back yard. I dug near the backyard hose bib and did not find a stub. I can use a Y off the hose bib but that's not my preference as it does freeze here so leaving the faucet on is not a great idea. I can run PVC from the front to the back but that's a lot of work. Or, I could just run a 1/2 inch flex PVC or 1/2 drip tube to the backyard, and put a separate AC valve and anti-siphon device at the high point in the backyard. I am putting a timer in the garage and running a wire to the backyard is feasible.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
